Ross Donlon-Not Impossible
De Australische dichter Ross Donlon schreef dit gedicht naar aanleiding van mijn schilderij.
Not Impossible
After the painting by Paul Dikker
although the sky is hot and black
and the ochre plain flat as science
and although the mountains gape
from the wings like dead, lifeless things
and although the final peak in the dark distance
could be a Mount Everest of creamy chemical tailings
there is enough light coming from something
unseen to glisten the peaks and ridges
and throw a full length shadow of the small dark suited man
standing feet apart and looking away to his left
as though he found exactly what he came for.
